- When they joins in.

- Sharing a story

- Cooking books

- Any story books

- The fun, child’s interpretation and imagination.

- Stories and factual

- Watching them trying to write.

9. What has been the most useful part of the evening?

- Learning phonics and how useful it is.

- Jolly Phonics hand out

- That the letters they are writing mean something.

- Knowing how to support writing and breaking up words and sounding them back together.

- Pronouncing the letters, words and phrases

- The signs for each letter, very informative.

- All of it.

- Covered most very well.

- Teaching them how to write.

- Actions to sounds/letters X5

- How to help them chop up words and phonic knowledge.

10. Are there any areas that you feel that we should include to make this evening more informative?

- 5.30pm was a good time for me. X6

- 5.30pm is good for me as it doesn’t interfere with bedtime. X2

- Get the parents doing the Jolly phonics

- A section on early numeracy

- Time 30minutes later to allow all parents to get home from school.

Follow up actions:

Get parents to join in with the Jolly Phonic actions during the information evening.

Keep the parent’s Literacy Information Evening at the time of 5.30pm as it suits the majority of the parents.

Look into the possibility of an ‘Early Numeracy’ information evening.

Continue to share the process to segmenting and blending pure sounds to enable parents to support their children at home.
