Wellbeing Week
Wow what a fantastic wellbeing week everyone!
All week we have been thinking about our wellbeing and about the character strengths and school values that can help us with our wellbeing.
Monday- Give
All about kindness, friendship, caring, generosity and giving
We had a fantastic family breakfast which was really well attended. Everyone enjoyed the lovely breakfasts and the friendship activities. Thank you to our local co-op for their generosity in donating the baked goods.
Year 2 children explored the benefits of peer massage. It's all bout friendship and giving!
In Year 4 the children found out about caring. They made their own kindness buckets and friendship bracelets. Everyone was filled with a sense of wellbeing at the end of the session.
Tuesday- Get active
All about enthusiasm, energy and confidence
A brilliant turn out for our family breakfast this morning. Thank you to Mr Parker and Mrs Gray for helping develop our confidence and enthusiasm by leading our dance activity.
In the foundation stage our parent and child yoga session from 'YogaBellies' helped develop our confident practice and taught lots of new skills that can be used at home.
In years 1, 3, and 5 we had some great sessions with 'Premier Wellbeing', helping us develop our enthusiasm for health, fitness and exercise.
Thank you also to 'GALs club' and 'Energise club' for continuing to work with this group on developing their confidence and desire to keep active.
Wednesday - Connect
All about communication, teamwork, co-operation and togetherness
We loved our family breakfasts today. What a pleasure to see families and children playing games together. Well done for showing great teamwork and co-operation everyone!
In Year 2 our yoga group 'Sunshine and Light' helped the children to make connections and develop communication with some fabulous paired yoga work.
In Year 3 Toby the reading dog was a big hit. What confident reading communication all of you. I think Toby was very impressed!
in Year 4 ' Oadby Free Spirit' supported the children to work together showing teamwork. They found out all about their inner strength and how to make connections with others. All with a Star Wars/ Harry Potter theme. Great fun!
Thursday- Take notice
All about reflection, listening, observing and taking notice
Another super family breakfast everyone with some great feedback about our mindful activities and information. Mrs Partridge then helped us all relax with a reflective yoga session.
In Year 1 'Blossom Yoga' worked with a group of children to help develop their skills of reflection, listening and noticing and worked on yoga stories.
In Year 5 MindfulnessCIC gave a fantastic introduction to this and the children explored the benefits of listening, being in the moment and the qualities of mindfulness.
Year 6, meanwhile enjoyed their ultimate challenge day and made lots of new friends and developed their teamwork skills.
Friday- Keep learning
All about curiosity and questioning
A lovely end to our family breakfast with breakfast and books. Well done to all those children who worked on their questioning skills.
