Music and Performing Arts

Intent

At Little Hill school we offer a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based, and which: seeks to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.  We aim to allow the children to experience a wide range of music genre, including classical, modern and cultural, through music lessons and their wider school environment, including clubs. Pupils will develop an engagement with music, allowing them to critique, compose and identify musical elements with confidence. Through the curriculum we aim to allow children to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music from a wide range, including the works of the great composers and musicians.  They will learn to sing and use their voices.  We proudly have singing assemblies and an award-winning choir.  We offer our parents the opportunity to take up musical instrument lessons.
